Upcoming Exhibitions
The Coburn Art Gallery at Ashland University will be hosting an art exhibition featuring the senior theater project by Brittany Hartman of Strongsville, Ohio and The Ashland Community Arts League featuring 19 of its member’s artworks. The exhibition will open on Friday February 17 and run through February 28, 2012. The gallery will have a reception on Friday February 17 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
Brittany Hartman is a senior theater at Ashland University and her project focuses on the book The Inferno by Dante, and she has created hair and make-up designs for 8 different characters using wigs, prosthetics, and many other advanced make-up skills. Brittany then actualized all 8 designs on different models and had photo shoots to take portraits of each design. The portraits, research, her original designs, and actual make-up pieces will be on display in the Coburn Art Gallery. Brittany will be speaking briefly about her project at 6pm in the gallery. To make it a full night in Ashland, please stay afterward to see the play, Enchanted April, which is produced by the Ashland University Theatre Department. Brittany is both in the production as well as designing the hair and make-up.
