OHIO-ALL MEDIA -Call for Entries
The Coburn Gallery at Ashland University announces a regional juried exhibition entitled Ohio-All Media, a juried exhibition created as a showcase for Ohio artists working in any media, traditional or experimental. $1000.00 in AWARDS. Open to artists at least 18 years of age residing in Ohio. A maximum of three entries for $25.00 are allowed per artist. Entries must be original works in any media (2-D or 3-D), completed within the last two years. Work previously exhibited at the Coburn Gallery is not eligible. Artists are responsible for shipping/delivery costs to/from the gallery. The exhibit runs from June 30 through July 31, 2013. There will be an opening reception on Sunday, June 30, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm with awards presented at 3:00pm. Juror: Robert E. Peppers, born in 1949 in McMinnville, Tennessee, is a BFA and MFA graduate of the Ohio University (O.U.) School of Art. For a number of years he was the Assistant Director, Black Cultural Center, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Mr. Peppers is currently a Professor at the School of Art, O.U. He has taught drawing at Penland School of Crafts and painting/collage in the O.U. Art in UK Program based at King’s College and University of London. Recently, Mr. Peppers’ work received “Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, “Best of Mixed Media Juror’s Award” in 2011 Black Creativity Art Exhibition. His exhibition history include showings at S.A.W. Contemporary Artist Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, King’s College, London, England, The High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Georgia, African American Museum, Dallas, Texas, the Dadian Arts Gallery at the Henry Luce III Center for the Arts and Religion, Washington D.C., Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, Utah State University and ten U.S. Embassies.-All entries must be postmarked by May 17, 2013.
