Gallery hosts the Senior Art Exhibition which features the capstone experience
for graduating art majors, the 2013 fall semester Senior Art Exhibition
represents more than just students’ studio art experiences. For students of the
liberal arts, the exhibition is the culmination of their undergraduate careers
at Ashland University. Bringing together artwork made by graduating seniors in
the Department of Art, the Senior Art Exhibition opens on December 3 at the
Coburn Art Gallery located in the center for the arts on the Ashland University
campus. The exhibition includes digital art, and ceramics. An opening reception will be held from
4:30pm-6:30pm on the Tuesday December 3, 2013. The senior art exhibition runs from December

Exhibiting seniors
include-
Ana Timan Reynolds
Ana Timan Reynolds hails from Berea, Ohio—proud home to The
Cleveland Browns Training Camp. Miss Reynolds
is the artist behind acclaimed childhood doodles such as The Sea Monsters, Ape
Wall, Strange Men with Tiny Hands and The Dirty Banana. Growing up, her artistic talents and
creativity were fostered by her artist-mother and musician-father. Miss Reynolds
would like to thank her mother and father for passing down such imaginative
genes.
After spending two years as an Education major, Ana Timan
Reynolds switched her studies to Fine Arts in 2011. She was presented with
Ashland University’s Art Department Junior of the Year Award in 2012 and won
Best in Show at the Ashland University Juried Student Art Exhibition in 2013.
Miss Reynolds is most proud of her accomplishments in Residence Life. She plans
to attend graduate school and pursue a career in student affairs.
Sarah Toby
Sarah Toby, native of Elyria Ohio, and daughter of Denise
and Ron Toby is a fifth year senior this year at Ashland University. Sarah is
double majoring in Art Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, minoring in Art
History. From a young age Sarah had always shown an interest in the arts and
has taken that love for her craft, turning it into a professional career. The
media of choice for Sarah is ceramics, and it is through this medium that she
is able to create deep personal connections with her artwork, as she pushes the
medium to it's limits. After graduation Sarah plans to find a job as a high
school art teacher, and eventually return to school to receive her masters in
fine arts. Through that Sarah would love to pursue a career in higher
education, becoming a ceramics professor. When asked about her senior art
exhibition, she stated "This experience has been one of constant growth,
not just in my artwork but in my personal connections with it as well as a
connection to self understanding. I am so excited about my show and to have to
opportunity to see the impact it has on my viewers. "
The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday and 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and is free and open to the
public. For more information about the reception or exhibition, call
