The Ashland University Coburn Art Gallery and the Department of Art and Design will host an exhibition titled, “Dear Dr. Seuss,” which will be a group exhibition of new works influenced by Dr. Seuss and his iconic characters, charming narratives and whimsical illustrations.
This fun, family friendly exhibition will feature the creative works of local school age children, AU art students and faculty, and professional artists. The celebration of Dr. Seuss will be on view from Feb. 15 to Feb. 24, 2018, with an opening reception planned for Thursday, Feb. 15, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
In addition, Art Saturdays will be offering a free family art activity that is based on the exhibition, beginning 30 minutes prior to the AU Theatre production of Seussical on Feb. 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24; approximately 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for the evening shows and 1:15 to 1:45 p.m. for the matinee. This free activity is located in the Coburn Gallery on the first floor of the Center for the Arts on the AU campus.
The Coburn Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and is free and open to the public. For more information about the reception or exhibition, call 419.289.5652 or visit the Gallery on Facebook.
