Art + Design Awards Announced

The award winners have been announced for the Ashland University 2022 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition that will run through March 23 in the University’s Coburn Art Gallery.

This exhibition offers $1150.00 in awards to student artists, including Best in Show, Bernini Award, Dean’s Award, Saville Award, People’s Choice Award and the AU Permanent Art Collection Award. The awards were announced at the opening reception of the exhibition on March 3, 2022. The People’s Choice award will be announced on the Coburn Gallery’s Facebook page on March 23, 2022.

The outside juror for exhibition was Heidi Weller. Weller grew up in Columbus Ohio and studied classical Greek and Latin in college, though by the time she entered graduate school her interests were changed to art, specifically photography. Weller worked as an industrial and commercial photographer in Columbus for a number of years, then moved with her family to the Ashland area. Heidi has exhibited works at the national and regional level and is an active member of the Ashland arts community.
