The award winners have been announced for the Ashland University 2021 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition that will run through March 26 in the University’s Coburn Gallery.
This exhibition offers $950.00 in awards to student artists, including Best in Show, Bernini Award, Dean’s Award, People’s Choice Award and the AU Permanent Art Collection Award. The awards were announced on the Coburn Art Gallery’s Facebook page on March 4, 2021.
The outside juror for the exhibition was Noah Schenk. Noah received his BFA from Kent State University with a focus in Glass. While earning his MFA from Ball State University, Noah began exploring more conceptual artwork. Expanding his visual vocabulary from mostly object making to creating installations questioning, observing and processing our current society. Noah is currently the glass chair and instructor at Mansfield Art Center.
Garcia accepted 76 entries of the 121 entries submitted.

The Coburn Gallery is open from 10am-5pm Monday through Friday and 12pm-4pm on Saturday/ Sunday. Gallery admission is free and open to the public. New Covid-19 safety protocols include: a maximum of 15 visitors that may visit the gallery at one time, and groups no larger than 5, and face masks must be worn at all the times on the Ashland University campus including on the exterior of the buildings.
