AU Art Alumni News

Check out what AU Art Alum Kevin Casto is doing with "The Art Junction"- a community based art program in New Haven, Ohio and AU Art Alum Lynda Stoneham with the "Artists' Open Studio" working with individuals with various developmental disabilities through the visual arts in Norwalk, Ohio. Bravo !





 AU Art Alum Matthew Schiemann will be serving as juror In March 2016 for an exhibition entitled " Last Call" at the Companion Gallery located in Humboldt, TN .
"Juror Matthew Schiemann will be looking for cups, pilsners, steins, goblets, flights, tokurris, bottles, growlers, flasks, and pitchers; anything for sippin', storin', or pourin' fine libations."

Design Your Own Skate Deck-Art Saturday for Tweens & Teens


Date: Saturday February 20, 2016 
Time: 9:00am-12:30pm
Ages: Tweens 10-13 & Teens 14-17
Cost: $35.00

This class would make an excellent holiday gift for a creative tween or teen !

Enrollment limited for event. 
Young artists will be led through the design process, transfer their images onto the deck and then paint and finish the design in one class setting. A blank skateboard deck* will be provided to each student and is included in the cost of the course which can be used a skateboard or as a shelf.

Senior Art Exhibition Fall 2015

Held each fall, the Coburn Gallery hosts the Senior Art Exhibition which features the capstone experience for graduating art majors, the 2015 Senior Art Exhibitions represents more than just students’ studio art experiences. For students of the liberal arts, the exhibition is the culmination of their undergraduate careers at Ashland University. Bringing together artwork made by graduating seniors in the Department of Art, the Senior Art Exhibitions opens on November 12 with an opening reception from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the Coburn Art Gallery located in the center for the arts on the Ashland University campus. 

Exhibiting seniors include: Taylor Menhart-Graphic Design, Olivia Glass-Ceramics, Randi Schimmoeller-Printmaking and Mary Jean Ferretti-Digital Art.


The senior art exhibition runs from November 12-December 20, 2015.
