The Ashland University Senior Art Exhibition will open on Thursday, April 9, and run through May 9 in the Coburn Art Gallery located in the Center for the Arts on the AU campus.
“While the Senior Art Exhibition provides the capstone experience for graduating art majors, it also represents more than just the students’ studio art experiences,” said Cynthia Petry, director of the Coburn Gallery. “For these students of the liberal arts, the exhibition is the culmination of their undergraduate careers at Ashland University.”
Held each spring, the event brings together artwork made by graduating seniors in the Department of Art and includes graphic design, digital art, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture.
Exhibiting seniors this year include Danielle Rhonemus of Bluffton, Ohio, BFA in Printmaking & B.S. in Art Education; Shauna Spiesz, Bay Village, Ohio, BFA in Painting & B.S. in Art Education; Taylor Wade, Shelby, Ohio, B.A. in Fine Art - Digital Art; Tricia Dasco, East Canton, Ohio, B.A. in Fine Art - Digital Art: Jennifer Clingerman, Beaver, Pa., B.A. in Fine Art - Digital Art; Cecelia Maxwell, Wooster, Ohio, BFA in Digital Art; Ashely Palmer, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, B.S. in Commercial Art; and Alex Myers, Massillon, Ohio, B.A. in Fine Art - Ceramics.
The opening reception on April 9 will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with the senior art awards being announced at 5 p.m.
